Wimberley EMS is a 911 Emergency ambulance service that was established in 1976 by a group of dedicated community volunteers that manned a single ambulance.
Now, we staff two ambulances 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with 16 full-time paramedics.
We are an independent, stand-alone EMS service dispatched by the Hays County Sheriff’s Department. We work with the Wimberley Volunteer Fire Department as well as the South Hays Fire Department and the Hays County Sheriff’s Department.
We are licensed through the Texas Department of State Health Services to provide two MICU (Mobile Intensive Care Unit) ambulances, which are staffed with two highly trained and experienced EMT- Paramedics.
This staffing model provides our citizens with the highest level of care available in EMS. All of our staff is expected to attend continuing education classes that far exceed the minimum national standard.
All Wimberley EMS ambulances are fully stocked with the latest state of the art equipment and supplies. In addition to our equipment and staffing, Wimberley EMS utilizes progressive treatment protocols under the watchful eye of our medical director, Dr. Trey Allen.
Wimberley EMS currently has a full staff but we are always looking for PRN medics to fill in for the scheduled time off of our full time medics.
If you are interested in applying for a PRN position please complete the form and we will be in contact with you.
